After the Storm

In the Alpilles Massif of Provence, France, I encountered a trio of lightning-struck oak trees that have endured the challenges of every season: cold, frost, rain, and sun, year after year. These weather changes have subtly shaped this noble material, revealing its hidden beauty. Delicate forms have emerged, accompanied by unexpected soft, warm hues. These photographs go beyond mere representation; they are abstract expressions of life's trials and resilience, suggesting the beauty that arises from overcoming challenges. Large format prints are recommended to fully appreciate the character of these ancient oaks, captured through the subtle rendition of film photography. These prints will add the authenticity of oak wood into your interior.
