Kosa, the River which Shaped a Valley

In the Jura Mountains, the Cuisance River once bore the Celtic name ''Kosa'', signifying a mountain river that carves its way through rocks. Its source emerges in gentle cascades - a  rare configuration - and over time, the Kosa has sculpted this karstic landscape, shaping ethereal cavities, enchanting caves and tranquil basins. This series of photographs seeks to capture this river's fascinating power capable of transforming landscapes and carving stones. Inspired by the 19th-century landscape paintings of Gustave Courbet, a Jura native, the style maintains a deep connection to the region’s artistic heritage. Large-format prints are recommended : They create a strikingly realistic effect and immerse the space in the river’s extraordinary energy.
