The Sinking River

Contemplating the Ain River as it converges into a sinking river in Jura Mountains, I witnessed a serene interaction between water and stone. Nature orchestrates a subtle dance, where the river emerges and recedes among the smooth curves of the surrounding rocks. The stones exhibit a tactile grace, while the water flows gracefully, embracing them before disappearing into their depths. This series seeks to capture this delicate balance between fluidity and solidity, the seen and the unseen. Inspired by J.M.W. Turner’s waterfall paintings, I created these photographs to invite contemplation of the grandeur of natural elements. A large format is recommended, serving as an invitation to fully immerse in the visual harmony of this nature's choreography.
